For decades, the FDA has failed to protect us from harmful chemicals in our food. From Red Dye No. 3, linked to cancer and still in 3,500+ foods, to BHA, a known carcinogen found in preserved meats, these substances pose serious health risks to millions of Americans. Even PFAs forever chemicals, linked to cancer, are still permitted in food packaging. Our food safety system is broken – but now, we have a chance to help fix it.
For the first time in decades, the FDA is seeking public input to develop a new chemical review program. Join the Alliance in supporting the Environmental Working Group’s petition urging the FDA to protect our health by creating a transparent, science-driven process that finally bans harmful additives.
