The Alliance for Sustainability was created 41 years ago by visionaries from around the world with a mission to co-create sustainability on a personal, organizational and planetary level.

We’ve always defined sustainability as being ecologically sound, economically viable, socially just and humane, embodying our highest values in terms of how we treat people, animals and the planet. We’re building on our pioneering successes to make sustainability mainstream using an open-hearted center of deep listening, empathy and collaboration.

We welcome you on our journey to co-create a diverse, inclusive alliance of more than one million people and organizations working together to bring fundamental systems change through personal and institutional transformation and impactful public policies.

We’re expanding our efforts to inform and inspire individual and joint actions through our Campaign for Sustainability, Health, Equity and Kindness (S.H.E. Kindness Campaign). We’ll engage our members, utilize media and work with our partners to achieve key tipping points to transform all institutions and the planet. We hope you’ll become a Friend of the Alliance.
