Happy World Bicycle Day June 3! We hope you’ll go for a ride and make it a habit. Did you know that the bicycle is the most efficient transport machine ever invented? In addition, biking is incredibly healthy for you physically and has a positive impact on the environment. Here are some health benefits of bicycling according to Better Health:
- increased muscle strength and flexibility
- improved joint mobility
- decreased stress levels
- improves posture and coordination
- strengthened bones
- decreased body fat levels
- prevention or management of disease
- reduced anxiety and depression
Bicycling is beneficial for the environment in a variety of ways, according to the Government of Queensland, Australia. Cycling is a clean form of transportation and lessens the need to construct and maintain roadways. In addition, as more people use bicycling as their primary mode of transportation, less space is required for roads, thus allowing cities to have more greenery. Overall, biking is a great way to improve your health, reduce pollution and congestion and maintain a harmonious relationship with the environment.
