Friends of Stillwater Trails (FOST) is a project Sustainable Stillwater MN and was launched by volunteers at the Request of the Stillwater City Council in August of 2015 to guide the implementation Stillwater’s 2040 trail plan  To get involved please contact Rick Heidick, FOST Chair, at 

In 2017 the Friends of Stillwater Trails will

  • work with the City to convene all community stakeholders (Lakeview, Schools, Police, Rotary, Coop, seniors, Chilkoot, Mountain Bike & Trail Clubs, Chamber) to collaboratively develop an action plan for Stillwater to be officially recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community by the national League of American Bicyclists in 2017 by implementing the “five Es” (Encouragement, Education, Evaluation, Engineering, Enforcement.)
  • engage all stakeholders to do their part to make biking Stillwater safe and pleasant for users of all levels, and
  • launch  our safe routes to school campaign with a family bike ride at Sustainable Stillwater’s Earth Day Event.
